Objectives of the Support Plan for Non-Chinese Speaking Students
- To support Non-Chinese Speaking Students in learning Chinese at school and foster their interest in the language.
- To address the developmental needs of Non-Chinese Speaking Students and enhance their social skills.
- To cultivate an inclusive school environment and aid Non-Chinese Speaking Students in integrating into the community.
Academic Support
- Alongside learning with local children, Non-Chinese Speaking Students will receive weekly small-group Chinese language instruction.
- To facilitate Non-Chinese Speaking Students’ learning, teachers will translate homework assignments into English, among other languages, enabling parents to guide their children’s learning at home.
- Teachers will utilize Cantonese for instruction, aiming to immerse Non-Chinese Speaking Students in a Chinese-speaking environment for learning.
- Organize multicultural activities to enhance children’s understanding of each other’s national cultures, promoting communication and fostering learning interest.
Additional Support
Provide loan materials and translation pen services.
Arrange for professional interpreters for parent activities (such as parent days and educational seminars) if required.
